Bhutan Animal Rescue and Care (BARC) is an organization with a mission of promoting the health and welfare of all animals. They believe in the intrinsic value of animals, independent of the utility value that humans may give to them. Animals are sentient beings with feelings, consciousness, and integrity, and should be treated with respect, kindness, and compassion. They rescue animals that have been injured or are suffering from disease, and nurse them back to health with support from local veterinary services in Bhutan.
