Indonesia Projects
Indonesia amazes with its thousands of islands, from Bali’s surfing beaches to Komodo's rugged wilderness. Rich culture, ancient temples like Borobudur, and vibrant marine life make it a bucket-list destination.
Indonesia’s poverty rate sits around 9.1 percent, but remote islands face much higher poverty. Roughly 75 percent of NGO operational funding comes from international sources, with only 25 percent locally raised. Child stunting rates exceed 21 percent in some regions, and many coastal conservation initiatives lack resources. Volunteers in public health education, marine conservation, and teaching can greatly enhance ongoing efforts.
