Organization Description:

Tea Leaf Trust is an organization created to lift Sri Lankan Tea Estate communities out of extreme poverty. The trust was created for the Indian Tamils of the tea estates who are deliberately kept as an uneducated and dependent workforce. In order to address this they run free, high-quality education programs for professional, personal and leadership development so that their youth alumni can lift their families out of extreme poverty and lead change from within the tea estates. Through education, vocational training, and emotional support, they empower young people to build meaningful careers, strengthen their families and uplift their communities.
