Organization Description:

Tiljala SHED is a non-religious, non-political grassroots level non-government developmental organization working for the underprivileged and marginalized people of Kolkata, especially the Rag Pickers community, which have been neglected and socially ostracized by most of society. Their goals include rehabilitating the urban poor engaged in hazardous employment into mainstream work, stopping minors from working, improving education rates, and increasing the percentage of women in leadership. To achieve this diverse range of goals that are working on a multitude of projects, including running multiple shelters for children living on the streets and skill building projects to increase financial empowerment for women.

Skilled Volunteer Project Description:

  • Aid with fundraising strategy development, grant proposal writing training, donor engagement systems, digital presence enhancement, creating grant proposal templates, CRM implementation, marketing and communication strategies, website and social media optimization, and monitoring and evaluation systems that connect us with important foundations.
