Ecuador Projects

Ecuador draws visitors with its stunning biodiversity — the Galápagos Islands, Andes Mountains, and Amazon Rainforest. Its colonial towns and rich culture make it a must-visit destination for history buffs and nature lovers alike.

About 15½ percent of Ecuadorians live under the national poverty line, yet rural indigenous populations are hit hardest—over 30 percent in some areas. NGOs receive only around 13 percent of their funding from local sources, with the remainder reliant on international donors. Rural communities face severe teacher shortages—an estimated shortfall of up to 30,000 educators. Volunteers assisting with teaching, sustainable agriculture training, and healthcare outreach help bridge this essential gap.
