India Projects
India mesmerizes travelers with its colorful festivals, diverse landscapes, and deep history, from the Taj Mahal to Kerala’s backwaters. Its dynamic cities and spiritual traditions offer endless exploration.
India is home to over 270 million people in multidimensional poverty, which accounts for about 20.2 percent of the population. Less than 15 percent of NGO funding is raised domestically; the rest comes from diaspora remittances, international aid, and global philanthropies. Many rural districts suffer from low female literacy rates and lack of clean water access. Volunteers involved in girls’ education, public health campaigns, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs make tangible impacts in underserved communities.
